Rigid Plastic Recycling

On Saturday, October 14th from 8 AM - 12 PM, the DPW will be hosting the annual Rigid Plastics recycling event. Below is a list of items that are accepted at the event.

If you are still unsure about an item that you are looking to recycle at the event, please call 781-665-0142 or email recycle@cityofmelrose.org for more information.

Accepted items*:

• Garden furniture 
• Laundry baskets
• Plastic flower pots
• Water cooler bottles
• Plastic Pet Carriers (metal attachments must be removed)
• Kids toys
• Plastic Crates
• Old trash/recycling bins
• Coolers
• Empty/clean jugs
• 5-gallon buckets/containers
• Infant car seats (no straps/cover)
• Plastic tote bins
• Rain barrels
• Compost Bins

* -- Before recycling your rigid plastic items, please consider reusing the items first or seeing if someone else could use it!
