Fees

The Wyoming Cemetery has established fees for burial related services. The fees are updated over time and therefore are not published within this document. Up-to-date fees are available by calling the main office. The following Cemetery services are associated with fees: Burial Charges – Fees will be charged for preparing a grave for burial. Overtime charges apply if work to be performed falls outside of the normal work day. Dis-interment Charge – Fees will be charged for opening a grave. Overtime charges apply if work to be performed falls outside of the normal work day. Veteran Grave Charge – Fees will be charged for opening a grave. Overtime opening charges apply if work to be performed falls outside of the normal work day. No fee will be charged for purchasing a Veterans grave. Cremation Charge – Fees will be charged for preparing a grave for cremation burial. Overtime charges apply if work to be performed falls outside of the normal work day Non -Resident Charge – Non resident with right of burial (previously purchased grave) fee will be charged. Genealogy Research Charge – Fees are collected for Genealogical research.


Payments

All fees are payable to the CITY OF MELROSE Check or money orders made out to the CITY OF MELROSE will be accepted. No cash will be accepted. PROPRIETOR The word Proprietor as used by the Cemetery Department does not mean ownership of the land, only the Right of Burial.


Donations

The Memorial Beautification Fund provides an opportunity for anyone interested in contributing to the improvement of the Cemetery landscaping and grounds. The Memorial Beautification Fund allows for donated monies and gifts which will provide trees, shrubs, non-woody perennials, seasonal flowers, specialty paving and appropriate outdoor furniture. The Cemetery Memorial Building Fund provides an opportunity for anyone interested in contributing to the improvement of the Cemetery administration building or maintenance garage. Donations typically may be made for the purchase of artwork, construction related interior and exterior repairs and/or improvements, office furniture, equipment, software or hardware and building fixtures. All donations for either the Memorial Beautification Fund or Cemetery Memorial Building Fund must conform to existing Cemetery Rules and Regulations and be approved by the Cemetery Committee.
