164 Essex Street- Comprehensive Permit Application

Cedar Park Development LLC has submitted a Comprehensive Permit to the Zoning Board of Appeals for the redevelopment of the property at 164 Essex Street, Melrose, MA. This type of permit, also known as Chapter 40B, is a state law, M.G.L. c.40B, §20-23, enacted to facilitate construction of low- or moderate-income housing.

The project proposal involves constructing a 23,309 sq. ft., 5-story building with 76 residential units and 54 parking spaces, under and behind the building. Nineteen of the proposed units (25%) will be affordable to households earning at or below 80% of AMI.
