Can I purchase a grave at the Wyoming Cemetery?
All sales of graves are as needed.
Length of time to qualify as a Melrose resident is two (2) years of living in Massachusetts and one (1) year living in Melrose, immediately prior to the time of death.
If a person was a resident of Melrose for twenty-five (25) years prior to relocating, they will be eligible to purchase as needed up to one (1) single or one (1) double depth grave at Wyoming Cemetery. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to provide proof of such residency.
Any veteran who entered the service of the United States Armed Forces through the City of Melrose will be allowed to be buried in the designated Veterans Section of Wyoming Cemetery with a valid DD 214 Form.
A current taxpayer having paid taxes for ten (10) consecutive years to the City of Melrose may petition the Cemetery Commissioners for an exemption to the residency requirements to purchase a grave.
