The City of Melrose is partnering with Mass Save to bring energy savings to all residents and small businesses as part of the Melrose Energy Challenge.

Join your neighbors and start with a no-cost Mass Save Home Energy Assessment. You may be eligible for:
 

  • 75-100% off approved insulation upgrades (100% off for rental units and moderate-income households)

  • No-cost air sealing

  • Discounts on high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment and appliances

  • No-cost energy saving products like programmable thermostats, high-efficiency faucet aerators and showerheads, LED light bulbs, and advanced power strip

Residents who qualify as low-income may be eligible for additional energy efficiency incentives and utility bill discounts through our local Community Action Program (CAP) agency. Contact the ABCD office in Malden at 781-322-6284 to learn about eligibility and to apply for winter heating fuel assistance and utility bill discounts.

STEP 2: Weatherize Your Home

Next, implement the energy saving measures identified in your assessment, like air sealing and insulation.

STEP 3: Upgrade Your Heating and Cooling Systems

Heat pumps are an efficient way to both heat and cool your home using electricity. Take advantage of new and increased Mass Save rebates for heat pumps. 


STEP 4: Purchase Cleaner Appliances

Examples of electric appliances to consider are induction stoves, solar hot water, and heat hump hot water systems.
