In Melrose, public meetings and events open to all community members take place every week. All posted agendas can be accessed via this link, http://melrosecityma.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspx, and public meeting video recordings can be accessed here https://vimeo.com/mmtv3/ (thanks, MMTV!).

It’s a Good Week for:

  • Voting: Early Voting begins this week in the City Council Chamber on Wednesday, October 25! Did you know that Melrose residents who have a disability or are 60 years of age or older can get a free ride to the voting polls during Early Voting and on Election Day from the Council on Agining? Call the COA today to book a ride (781-665-4034) and read this City News story to learn more.
  • Resources: Melrose residents 65 and older are encouraged to attend tomorrow's Senior Resource Fair taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building. The fair, which is hosted by Mayor Brodeur, is an opportunity for older adults to learn about senior discounts, get their annual flu vaccines, sign up to receive support from local agencies, and more.
  • Community Health: Community members of all ages can get vaccinated against the flu at this Thursday's Walk-in Flu Clinic and get their blood pressure checked for free at this week's Farmers' Market. Plus, anyone who wants to learn about the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Helpline can stop by the HHS department's booth at the market to talk to Mary Morrison, a regional rep for the Helpline.
