The Week Ahead: Public Meetings & Events Happening in Melrose

In Melrose, public meetings and events open to all residents take place every week. All posted agendas can be accessed via this link, http://melrosecityma.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspx, and public meeting video recordings can be accessed here https://vimeo.com/mmtv3/ (Thanks, MMTV!).

 Events of note:

  • Tonight, the City Council’s FY24 Budget Hearings will continue in the chamber. On the docket tonight are budgets for the Police, Fire, and Emergency Management Departments. To view all City of Melrose FY24 budget documents, visit the landing page for the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget.
  • The Melrose community is invited to attend the Open Houses taking place at all four of the City’s public safety buildings on Tuesday, May 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The tours are an opportunity for residents to discover what the aging buildings look like inside and out, and a chance to interact with the City’s first responders, including Police Chief Kevin Faller and Fire Chief Edward Collina.
  • The City’s Memorial Day Ceremonies kick off this weekend! Residents can help in honoring, remembering, and respecting the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of the military and their families this weekend by volunteering to decorate the graves of veterans on Saturday, May 27, or by attending any or all of the City’s traditional ceremonies including the Memorial Day Parade taking place on Sunday, May 28.
