The Week Ahead: Public Meetings & Events Happening in Melrose

In Melrose, public meetings and events open to all residents take place every week. All posted agendas can be accessed via this link, http://melrosecityma.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspx, and public meeting video recordings can be accessed here https://vimeo.com/mmtv3/ (Thanks, MMTV!).

 Events of note:

  • Tonight, the City Council’s FY24 Budget Hearings will kick off in the City Council Chamber. The Mayor’s Office, and the City Solicitor’s Office will present their proposed budgets to the City Council tonight between 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. To engage with and learn about the City's upcoming fiscal year budget, please visit the landing page for the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget.
  • This Tuesday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Melrose community is invited to tour the Melrose Police Department and Central Fire Station (Headquarters) at the Melrose Public Safety Buildings Committee's Open Houses. The tours are an opportunity for residents to discover what the aging buildings look like inside and out, and a chance to interact with the City’s first responders, including Police Chief Kevin Faller and Fire Chief Edward Collina.
  • On Saturday, May 20, the Cities of Melrose and Malden are partnering to provide Melrose and Malden residents age 2-14 with a FREE Fishing Derby at Pine Banks Pond. Registration is required.
  • On Sunday, May 21, the annual Boston Wounded Vets Run will drive through Melrose, impacting traffic on Main Street, Lynn Fells Parkway, and Pond Street between approximately 1:15 and 1:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.cityofmelrose.org/home/events/81586.
