Melrose Board of Health Votes on City-Wide Indoor Mask Order

The Melrose Board of Health voted to reverse the City-wide indoor mask order during yesterday’s Public Board of Health meeting. This end to the City-wide indoor mask order, which had previously required face coverings in all public and private indoor places for everyone age 5 and older, is effective immediately as of February 8.

As of now, Melrose Public Schools and municipal buildings will keep their mask requirements in place until further notice. Melrose business owners have the right to enforce a mask rule in their establishment if they choose.

Melrose remains one of the most vaccinated communities in Massachusetts, with 91% of eligible residents having received at least one vaccination and approximately 80% of eligible residents being fully vaccinated.
