To ensure its services and programs are meeting the needs of older residents, both now and in the future, the City of Melrose’s Council on Aging (COA), in partnership with researchers at the UMass Boston Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging, is conducting a study to evaluate the needs of older adults in Melrose.

“Our senior population is growing, and the needs of our older residents will continue to evolve. We want to hear from as many residents aged 55 and older as possible,” says Erica Brown, Executive Director of the Melrose Council on Aging.

An important part of the needs assessment is a community survey which examines the use of and satisfaction with current services offered by the COA to determine what services should be priorities for the future.

The survey, which will take about 15 minutes to complete, can be accessed online by clicking here starting September 19.

Print versions of the survey will also be available starting September 25 at the following locations: Milano Center (201 West Foster Street), the Mayor’s Office in City Hall (562 Main Street) and the Melrose Public Library (263 West Foster Street).

For problems with accessing the online survey, please call the Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging at (617) 287-7413.

Survey responses will be accepted until Friday, October 13, 2023.
