Net Zero Action Plan
Melrose is one of 15 members of the Metro Mayors Climate Preparedness Task Force which was formed in 2015 by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to coordinate and collaborate our joint efforts on the climate emergency. In 2016 Melrose signed on to the Metro Mayors commitment to achieve Net Zero/Carbon Free status by 2050.
As such, Melrose has moved forward on several initiatives to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions but most importantly, a Net Zero Action Plan was released on Earth Day in April 2022 which sets out a roadmap to reach net zero emissions by 2050 with interim milestones. Plan implementation is underway.
