Melrose farmers, beekeepers and gardeners are opening up their farms to the public again this year for the third Urban Farm Tour on August 10, 10am-3pm. This is a self-guided, family-friendly tour of urban farms in Melrose.

Participants will get tips on edible gardens and see what’s needed for keeping goats, chickens and bees in an urban setting. The tour begins at Bowden Park (seasonal location of the Melrose Farmers' Market), at the junction of W. Emerson, and Vinton Streets, adjacent to the Cedar Park Commuter Rail stop.

Brochures, including a map for tour stops, will be available for participants. The tour cost is $15 for adults if prepaid online, and $20 when bought the day of the tour. Children, 6-18 years, pay $5, and those under 5 are free. Tickets can also be purchased at the Farmers' Market each Thursday. All proceeds go to the Melrose Farmers’ Market which runs every Thursday from June 6th to October 31st, 2-7PM (beginning October, time adjusts to 2-6PM).
