Drop Your Crayons off at FUMC Melrose

The First United Methodist Church of Melrose, 645 Main St., is collecting used crayons. The donated crayons will be used by volunteers participating in the MLK Day of Service to make new, fun-shaped, multi-colored crayon creations. These will be donated to the Malden office of the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families, whose social workers make home visits in Melrose and surrounding areas, and to Tufts Medical Center, where they will be offered to patients and their families. Crayons can be dropped off in a bucket near the front door anytime, or to the office during church hours (Mon.-Thurs. 9 am-1pm) or the morning of the Day of Service (Monday, January 21).

The church is excited to once again host this kid-friendly volunteer event. Last year, nearly 100 volunteers participated, sorting over 100 pounds of donated crayons, and packing them into more than 600 bags.
