The First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., will have many Christmas services and events this season.

On Sunday, December 16 at 10 a.m., the church will have its Children’s Christmas Pageant, “Three Wise Queens,” based on the children’s book by Melrose author and church member James Cory Allen.

On Thursday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m., the church will have a“Hard to Be Merry” service.During this season, some people are grieving, hurting, in pain, or lonely. The season can magnify emotions, making painful ones feel even more so. All are invited to this quiet service of readings and music and candlelight as we gather to hold the shadowy places of our lives in the light of God’s love.

OnMonday, December 24 at 6 p.m. will have a family-friendly Candlelight Christmas Eve Service. Join us for this traditional service of beautiful music and the Christmas story. It includes a special message for children, and concludes with candle (or glow stick) light.
