The Annual Bike to the Sea Day Ride Is Sunday, June 2!

The Melrose Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee invites you to meet at 7:50 a.m. (leave promptly at 8:00) at the corner of Main and East Foster for an informal bike convoy to the ride’s start at the Madeline English School, 105 Woodville St. in Everett. There’s a 14-mile round-trip family ride and a 20-mile round-trip ride to Nahant Beach, followed by lunch at the Dockside Restaurant on Centre Street in Malden. Comfortable pace, very family-friendly. There are police escorts for the portions of the ride that are on the road. Starting the ride in Melrose adds 3 miles to the ride on each end.

The ride starts at 9 a.m. Registration is available online (includes T-shirt and lunch) or the day of the ride starting at 8:30 a.m.

Parts of the trail are unpaved, so wider tires are recommended.

Helmets required. Riders 8 and up allowed.  Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The event is a lot of fun and supports a great cause – completing the community path from Everett through Malden to Nahant Beach.
