“Arti Gras” Event Kicks Off Fundraising Campaign for Follow Your Art Community Studios on March 8

Follow Your Art Community Studios (FYACS), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting creative endeavors for all ages, kicks off a fundraising campaign on Friday, March 8. The Mardi Gras-themed “Arti Gras” party will be held in FYACS’ new home at 647 Main Street in the heart of Melrose.

The Arti Gras event will feature music, dancing, food and drinks, a silent auction and raffle items. Tickets are $50 per person. The money raised will help FYACS make its new space accessible and welcoming to all, with a wheelchair ramp and other modifications.

“The party is a fun way for the public to support a new, vibrant creative community for local visual, literary, and other artists,” said FYACS Executive Director Kris Rodolico. The three-story Victorian will house several artist studios, a writers’ room, classrooms and salons for events and exhibits.

“The new location allows us to vastly broaden our programming to the community. We’ll have the space to offer a large selection of art classes as well as writing workshops, music lessons and more for children, teens, adults, and seniors throughout the year,” said Rodolico. FYACS will continue to collaborate with local organizations, including assisted living facilities and schools, to run art projects that serve the needs of all members of the community regardless of financial, physical, or cognitive ability.
