The Week Ahead: Public Meetings & Events Happening in Melrose

In Melrose, public meetings and events open to all community members occur every week. All posted agendas can be accessed via this link, http://melrosecityma.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspx, and public meeting video recordings can be accessed here: https://vimeo.com/mmtv3/ (thanks, MMTV!).

It’s a Good Week for:

  • Being Kind – The City of Melrose celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Day with MelroseKind today, November 20, and encourages the Melrose community to consider being kind in the following two ways: Donating to the Melrose Emergency Fund and/or “Adopting” a Melrose senior citizen. Being Kind is easy! Learn more by reading this City News item.
  • Giving Thanks – The City workforce wishes you and your family a happy Thanksgiving and are thankful to have time off with their own families: most City offices will close early at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, and will reopen on Monday, November 28, at 8:30 a.m. Full details on the holiday hours for each City building can be found by reading this alert.
  • DEI Training – City employees will embark on their final DEI Training for the year 2023 tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21. To ensure all staff can participate in the training, many offices will be lightly staffed, and some will be closed tomorrow. A complete list of closures will be made available via the City News this evening.
  • Affordable Housing – The Melrose Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD) announced an upcoming lottery to purchase an affordable condominium at 52 West Emerson Street in Melrose. The affordable unit contains 1,173 square feet, 2 bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms and includes one outdoor parking space. To learn more, check out this City News item.
