The Week Ahead: Public Meetings & Events Happening in Melrose

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Melrose
Mayor Paul Brodeur proclaims October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

In Melrose, public meetings and events open to residents take place every week. All posted agendas can be accessed via this link, http://melrosecityma.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspx, and public meeting video recordings can be accessed here https://vimeo.com/mmtv3/ (thanks, MMTV!).

Events of Note:

  • October isn’t just about ghosts and ghouls or picking apples, it’s also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To help raise awareness, Mayor Paul Brodeur, the Melrose City Council, and the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV) will make the designation official with a Mayoral proclamation at tonight’s City Council meeting. Community members are encouraged to attend and take a stand against domestic violence, honor its victims, and support survivors all monthlong.
  • Melrose Swap Day returns this Saturday, October 7, in the City Hall municipal parking lot between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.! Community members are invited to drop off items for donation until 11 a.m. Bonus: you do not have to bring something to take something, and vice versa.
