The Week Ahead: Public Meetings & Events Happening in Melrose

A few events of note this week at include:

  • Monday—Wednesday, residents can visit the Mayor’s Office to purchase tickets to the Melrose High School Football game taking place at 10:15 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets can also be purchased at MHS before school, during lunch, and after school. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults (cash only).
  • Wednesday, November 23, at 12:30 p.m., City Hall and the Milano Center will be closed and at 1 p.m., the Melrose Public Library will be closed in observation of Thanksgiving.
  • Thursday, November 24, due to the holiday, there will be no trash and recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day: Thursday and Friday’s pickup will be delayed one day.

Wednesday, November 23

  • City Hall and the Milano Center will close at 12:30 p.m. and will re-open Monday, November 28 at 8:30 a.m.
  • The City Yard will be closed all day, and will re-open on Saturday, November 26, at 8:30 a.m.
  • The Melrose Public Library will close at 1 p.m. and will re-open on Saturday, November 26 at 10 a.m. Digital services will be available online 24/7.

Thursday, November 24

Happy Thanksgiving! There is no curbside trash and recycling today.


Friday, November 25

Thursday’s trash and recycling will be collected.


Saturday, November 26

Friday’s trash and recycling will be collected, and the City Yard will be open from 8:30 a.m. ---12:30 p.m.
