Wakefield Health Department to Host Booster Clinic on February 9

The Wakefield Health Department will host a COVID booster vaccination clinic on Wednesday, February 9, from 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. in the Hurd School, located at 27 Cordis St. in Wakefield. The clinic is open to individuals aged 12 and over. The Pfizer vaccine will be distributed at this event.

  • Melrose individuals who need assistance making an appointment can contact the Melrose Council on Aging at (781) 662 - 6886. If your call goes to voicemail, please leave a message - the office will call residents back in the order that voicemails are received.
  • Wakefield individuals who need assistance registering can contact the Wakefield Senior Center at (781) 245 - 3312. state’s 2-1-1 helpline.
  • This event will provide boosters only; individuals seeking a first or second dose should visit https://vaxfinder.mass.gov to find a nearby vaccination location.

Getting Boosted and Vaccinated

If you are looking to get a booster or initial vaccine, use this tool to find vaccination locations near you.

  • The CDC now recommends booster shots at 5 months after the completion of the primary series of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for those aged 12 and older. Click here to read more about boosters.

Vaccination Records

Massachusetts residents can visit the MyVaxRecords portal to electronically view and save their COVID-19 vaccine records. By providing a cell phone number or email address, users can obtain a digital record of their vaccinations recorded in the Massachusetts Immunization Information System. Their COVID-19 vaccination record includes a unique QR code that can be saved to the user’s phone files, camera roll or the Apple Wallet. It can also be printed out for a paper record.

Post-Vaccination Guidance

People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, like the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, like Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. If it has been less than 2 weeks since your shot, or if you still need to get your second dose, you are not fully protected. Keep taking all prevention steps until you are fully vaccinated.
