Video Update for May 5

This update will be abbreviated tonight as I have a school committee this evening where we will be considering the budget for the next fiscal year. As I have explained before, it will be a difficult year for the budget due to the economic upheaval caused by the pandemic. I hope you all will follow the budget process closely and share your thoughts with me and the City Council.
As you all know, Governor Baker’s face covering order goes into to effect tomorrow. The order mirrors the earlier Board of Health order and is very comprehensive. Unless you have a health condition that prevents you from using one, please wear a face covering whenever you are out in public. Compliance protects you, your friends, neighbors, strangers and workers.
MelroseHelps is developing a plan to ensure that every resident of Melrose has a mask at their house and will providing more details shortly. We can always use more volunteers to make this work as quickly and efficiently as possible, so please step forward and contact Melrose Helps if you have the time.
