 This is Mayor Paul Brodeur

Success!! We have successfully delivered masks to every household in Melrose. If you haven’t received yours yet, do not worry as some volunteers may be delivering them this evening. If you wake up tomorrow still have not received this paper bag, send an email to MelroseHelps@cityofmelrose.org. I want to thank both the city employees and 100s of volunteers who made this work so smoothly.

Our entire community has really distinguished itself. Melrose Helps is continuing our weekly delivery of groceries to seniors in need, and the Melrose Emergency Fund stands ready to help Melrose residents who need one-time help whether it is related to the COVID pandemic or not. Folks have typically sought help with rent, bills, and food assistance. If you need help, please ask by calling 781-979-4191 or sending an email to MelroseHelps.

And if you or somebody you know is a victim of domestic violence, please call the Massachusetts Statewide Violence Hotline at 877-785- 2020 or visit casamyrna.org. They can provide confidential referrals, information and resources.

Finally, please remember that if you are experiencing a non-COVID medical emergency such as chest pains or stroke symptoms, seek out care immediately by calling 911. Our first responders and emergency departments are prepared to keep you safe and get you the help you need.

Thank you all again for your patience, your persistence, and your willingness to help. If you need help, please ask, and if you can help, please do. Wear those masks, keep up the physical distancing, sanitize surfaces, and always, always wash your hands. Remember that together we will get through this.
