 Good Evening,

This is your Mayor Paul Brodeur. Today we learned that the city of Melrose has 62 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and as I reported yesterday 2 deaths. Tonight’s update is brief, but I wanted to share with you my thanks for the overwhelming support you’ve shown Melrose Helps and the Emergency fund. Tomorrow, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce I am kicking off a task force which will focus on how to help our valued small businesses through this crisis and beyond. In times of need, Melrose comes together.

Finally, I want to let people who might be experiencing food insecurity to know that in addition to local resources, you can reach out to Project Bread’s Food Source Hotline at 1-800-645-8333

Food Source Hotline counselors refer callers to food resources in their community and provides them with information about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). When relevant, they also connect callers with utility, fuel assistance, and MassHealth. And all information is kept strictly confidential.

They can provide information in 160 languages and can also serve the hearing impaired community through its TTY line, 1-800-377-1292. Both numbers and the link to Project Bread’s website are on your screen. www.projectbread.org

Keep the faith Melrose. Together we will get through this.
