Traffic Alert: Wounded Vets Motorcycle Run Will Travel Through Melrose Sunday, May 21

The Annual Boston Wounded Vets Run will pass through the City of Melrose on Sunday, May 21, between approximately 1:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. and will impact traffic in the areas of Main Street, Lynn Fells Parkway, and Pond Street:

  • Participating motorcycle riders will be coming into Melrose from Wakefield between approximately 1:15 and 1:30 p.m. via Main Street and will turn onto Lynn Fells Parkway.
  • Traveling Westbound on the Lynn Fells Parkway into Stoneham, the ride will turn right onto Pond Street.

Please note the following:

  • During the ride, traffic is usually stopped for approximately 20 to 30 minutes (depending on the size of the ride).
  • The intersections of Franklin Street at Main Street and Main Street at Lynn Fells Parkway will be the most impacted.
  • During the ride, no regular traffic is let through unless it is an emergency vehicle (the ride is not to be stopped outside of an emergency).
  • Police officers from multiple agencies will be escorting the ride along the entire route.

This motorcycle charity ride is dedicated to wounded veterans from New England. All proceeds benefit selected wounded veterans and charities of their choice.
