Please note, if Fridays are your regularly scheduled curbside trash & recycling day, your trash will be picked up on Saturday, November 12, and not on Friday, November 11.

Join the Melrose Veterans Day Ceremony

The City will host its annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony tomorrow, November 11, at 10 a.m. at the Vietnam Reflection area located at the Knoll across from the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School.

Following the brief ceremony at the Knoll, the event will continue at the Vietnam Memorial on Main Street, and the ceremony will conclude at the Honor Roll, where the City of Melrose and Veterans Services Advisory Board will honor the Melrose Veterans killed in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

Volunteer at the Annual Holiday Food Drive

Finally, and In the spirit of service, the Melrose Veterans’ Advisory Board, in partnership with the Melrose Veterans’ Services Office, will be holding its annual holiday food drive at the Melrose Shaw’s Supermarket on Saturday November 19 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.  The goal of the drive is to fill the shelves with needed items heading into the holiday season.  All donated food and gift cards will be given to the Servant’s Heart Food Pantry and the Pantry of Hope.

Donate to the Gold Star Memorial Fundraiser

The City of Melrose Veterans Services Department is currently in the process of building a Gold Star Memorial to honor the surviving families of all service members killed in action.  To maintain these Memorials, the Friends of Melrose Veterans Advisory Board, Inc.  has created a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) charity, and are currently seeking donations.
