Melrose School Supply Collection at Edward Jones Through August 26

For the eleventh consecutive year, City Councilor Chris Cinella of Edward Jones Investments, 502 Main Street, is collecting school supplies to give to children who need them. All the school supplies donated will be given to families who require the extra help or are being served by the Red Cross and the Melrose Emergency Fund. Donations should be brought to the Edward Jones office anytime between now and August 26.

According to a KPMG survey, the average parent’s spending per student is expected to spend as much as $270 this back-to-school season. This figure does not include other costs such as extracurricular supplies like sporting equipment or art supplies.

All types of school supplies are welcome, particularly pencils, pens, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, binders, folders, backpacks, lunchboxes, child-safe scissors, glue sticks, staplers, calculators, calculators, dry erase boards, erasers, construction paper. Gift cards to stores that offer school supplies are especially welcome.

The Edward Jones office is located at 502 Main Street and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
