Melrose School Committee Announces Superintendent Finalist Candidates
The Melrose School Committee has announced that the Superintendent Search Screening Committee has forwarded the names of four finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools beginning in July 2024.
After the application deadline of October 13, 2023, eleven (11) applications were forwarded to the Screening Committee and on October 17, 2023, after a thorough review of written application materials, the Screening Committee met and engaged in an extended discussion of each candidate, ultimately reaching consensus to invite seven (7) candidates for an interview. All candidates accepted the invitation and were interviewed during the evenings of October 23, 25, and 26.
On October 26, members of the Screening Committee reached consensus on the finalists and forwarded the names of the following four educators for consideration as the next Superintendent of the Melrose Public Schools:
- John Buckey, who most recently served as the Superintendent of the Marblehead, MA, Public Schools.
- Adam Deleidi, who currently serves as the Chelsea, MA, Public Schools Deputy Superintendent.
- Jannell Pearson-Campbell, who most recently served as the Interim Superintendent of Northampton, MA, Public Schools.
- Priya Tahiliani, who most recently served as the Superintendent of the Everett, MA, Public Schools.
The school community will have the opportunity to meet these finalists when they visit Melrose during the weeks of November 13 and November 27. The School Committee will interview them on the evening of their visit. The schedule of district visits and School Committee interviews is as follows:

"The Screening Committee met on five (5) different evenings to prepare, review, interview, debate, deliberate, and decide on the finalists presented to the Melrose School Committee.
