Melrose Pride 2023: The MHRC and Mayor Announce Pride Flag Raising Speakers & Sale of Melrose Pride 2023 T-Shirts

Melrose Pride Logo: One Community Open to All in Rainbow Colors

The Mission of the MRHC’s 2023 Pride Events is to celebrate the voices and perspectives of the LBGTQIA+ community in Melrose, raise awareness of barriers faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, and bring the people of Melrose together to promote inclusivity, education, and advocacy for equal rights for all people under the law.

Pride Flag Raising Ceremony (City Hall)

On Thursday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m., please join the Melrose Human Rights Commission (MHRC) and Mayor Paul Brodeur as the City of Melrose raises the Pride Flag in honor of Pride Month and celebrates Melrose as “One Community, Open to All.”

The Flag Raising Ceremony will feature remarks from Senator Jason Lewis, Representative Kate Lipper-Garabedian, Mayor Brodeur, HRC Commissioners, and keynote speaker Ellyn Ruthstrom—a Melrose community member and the Executive Director of SpeakOUT Boston.

Following the keynote address, Melrose residents Robin Eriksen, Kacey Martin, Alex Leo, and Sunday Rogers will raise the Progress Pride Flag. The MHRC thanks these residents for volunteering to help raise the flag in response to the Pride Pre-Event Survey.
