Melrose Energy Challenge Invites Residents to Attend Heat Pump Webinar

As part of the Melrose Energy Challenge, the City of Melrose invites residents to join Heat Pumps for Cooling (and Heating),” a webinar geared toward informing the Melrose community about how heat pumps work and a Q&A with heat pump coaches taking place on Wednesday, June 28, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom.

The City first launched the Melrose Energy Challenge in 2012 and re-launched it in 2022 to continue encouraging residents to make their homes and buildings more efficient.

Heat pumps are an efficient and flexible air conditioning system. They also provide state-of-the-art clean heating down to cold New England temperatures. New incentives and tax breaks as of 2023 make these systems more affordable for the Melrose community. Residents have access to trained heat pump coaches, expert quote analysis, and vetted contractor lists.

The Heat Pump Webinar, provided by the Melrose heat pump coaches, will allow residents to learn more about their heat pump options, find out about Melrose’s heat pump services, and have their heat pump questions answered.

Residents can register in advance today by visiting: https://www.cityofmelrose.org/home/events/HeatPumpWebinar

The workshop will include a short presentation on heat pumps and an introduction to Melrose’s roster of trained heat pump coaches and other services, followed by a question-and-answer period. Learn about:

  • how heat pumps work
  • different system configurations
  • ways to comparison shop
  • help available to consider quotes
  • financial incentives

This webinar, and Melrose’s other heat pump services, are provided by the Melrose Energy Challenge, a city-wide initiative to bring energy efficiency and clean energy options to Melrose residents. About the Melrose Energy Challenge

The City of Melrose re-launched the Melrose Energy Challenge in 2022 to encourage residents to make their homes and buildings more efficient. Melrose aims to increase rates of insulation, air sealing, and heating system upgrades for renters and homeowners, low- and moderate-income households, and small businesses by expanding awareness of and improving access to the incentives. The City originally launched a Melrose Energy Challenge in 2012.
