Melrose Designated a Housing Choice Community

I am pleased to announce that Melrose has been designated a Housing Choice Community by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, one of 67 recognized by Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito at a State House ceremony on May 14.

The Housing Choice Initiative recognizes communities that have created new housing in recent years and have followed best practices to ensure that housing is available to as many people as possible. 

This designation means that Melrose is eligible for grant monies from the new Housing Choice Grant Program and gives us bonus points when applying for some other state grants as well.
