Melrose Community Invited to City’s Electric Vehicle Showcase Pop-Up Event!

People gather around cars in parking lot.

The City of Melrose and Melrose Energy Commission invites the Melrose community to attend the City’s upcoming Electric Vehicle (EV) Showcase Pop-Up Event on Saturday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Melrose High School parking lot located at 360 Lynn Fells Parkway.

During the Showcase, local EV owners will display their electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, e-bikes, e-scooters, e-motorcycles, and new this year -  electric yard equipment! - and share their wealth of knowledge with showcase attendees during the event.

“The Showcase is a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from EV owners what it's really like to live with an EV and get all their EV questions answered,” said Martha Grover, Sustainability Manager for the City of Melrose. “If you're wondering how to free yourself from uncertain gasoline prices or you just want to see the latest mobility technology stop by the showcase this Saturday.”

Showcase attendees will have all their EV questions answered, including the following:

  • How does a long-distance road trip work?
  • How much do EV's cost to operate?
  • What charging options are available?
  • What autos are on the market today, and which qualify for federal and state tax credits?

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to take a ride in an EV with presenters, chill out with some vehicle-powered music, meet some interesting e-bikes--because not all-electric vehicles have four wheels, and more.

“As of March, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported that Melrose is home to 454 electric vehicles,” said Martha Grover, Sustainability Manager for the City of Melrose. "Many people have told us that our previous EV Showcases were the reason they made the switch, and we appreciate the time and enthusiasm from community members.

It’s not too late for electric vehicle owners to sign up to showcase their EVs at the event. Register your interest using this form: Signup Form for June 10 EV Showcase
