Melrose Community Can Chat with Behavioral Health Helpline Rep at Melrose Farmers’ Market

A representative from the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Helpline (BHHL) named Mary Morrison will be attending the Melrose Farmers’ Market taking place at Bowden Park on Thursday, October 26, and will be available to speak with and provide resources to attendees at the Melrose Health and Human Services table from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Morrison is the Community Relations Representative for the Northeast division of BHHL.

“We want the Melrose community to know that there are people clinically trained in mental health or substance use available at their fingertips, even if you don’t have insurance,” said Emily Hatchouel, Public Health Specialist for the City of Melrose. “We hope that by having Mary, a BHHL representative, with us at the Farmers’ Market, we will raise awareness of the organization’s 24/7 services and as a result, those who need support will get connected.”

The City of Melrose encourages community members who attend the Farmers’ Market to stop by the Health and Human Services Table and meet the BHHL representative who can answer any questions residents may have about the Helpline, which offers anyone across the commonwealth, a direct connection to mental health and substance use care – no insurance needed – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

MA BHHL is available in more than 200 languages and connects users with clinically trained staff through phone, text, and/or online chat. Staff determine which type of care best fits everyone’s needs and callers can expect to be connected directly to treatment services.

For those who would like to get mental health or substance use help, but are not sure where to start, call or text the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line at 833-773-2445 or chat online at masshelpline.com.
