Melrose Chamber: Businesses, Individuals Helped Melrose Bloom

Photo of hanging flower basket

This comes from the Melrose Chamber of Commerce. As you know, the City of Melrose partners with the Chamber on the annual hanging flowers baskets program which helps beautify our business districts, and I would also like to thank all our businesses and individuals who have pitched in.

As the largest organization dedicated to economic activity in the City of Melrose, the Melrose Chamber of Commerce frequently receives comments about the City’s beautiful and bustling downtown, and how lucky we are to have several thriving business districts throughout our community. We are very fortunate to have a business community, alongside many individuals, that continually gives back to the City throughout the year, and in many ways.

One reason why Melrose’s business districts remain attractive is because of the hanging geraniums that adorn the Victorian lamp posts on Main Street, Essex Street, Franklin Street, West Emerson Street and West Wyoming Avenue, across several seasons. These baskets, which are hung on the lamp posts in early spring and last through early fall, have become symbols of the support given by the business community and individual residents.

The flower baskets are also another wonderful example of the collaborative relationship which exists between the City of Melrose, the Melrose business community and the Melrose Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber sincerely thanks the City of Melrose’s Public Works Department for hanging, caring for and maintaining the flower baskets. Without this support from the City, the program would not be possible.

The following are the businesses and individuals who contributed to this initiative in 2019. Please make sure you thank these business owners and community members who make Melrose “bloom” by patronizing them in the months ahead:
