Lime Bike Update: Winter Closure

With winter approaching, Lime is gearing down its operations for the calendar year. Lime intends to pause bike share operations for the winter and return the fleet to their warehouse in Malden until March 15, 2020. They have gradually reduced the fleet over the last month and all bikes have now been picked up in Melrose.

We have been pleased with the popularity of the pilot bike share program to date.  Over 7,500 bike trips have taken place in Melrose since the pilot program began one year ago!

To learn more about this regional initiative, check out the study recently released by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC).  MAPC has developed an interactive website that examines the first 18 months of the dockless bike share pilot in the Metro Boston region. They analyzed over 300,000 trips made between April 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019 in the 16 cities and towns that participated in the pilot program.
