Home for the Holidays 2021

Brought to you by the Melrose Chamber of Commerce and Presenting Sponsors Edward Jones Investments and The Kim Perrotti Team Leading Edge, with support from the City of Melrose, the weekend’s festivities begin on Friday evening at the City Hall lawn with live music and the lighting of the tree, and the traditional stroll down Main Street to the YMCA to await the arrival of Santa on the fire truck.

Please walk if you can, as parking will be limited. Main Street will be closed from Upham Street to West/East Foster Street starting at 5:30pm.

Friday Evening Festivities:

5:45pm: Gather around the tree on the City Hall lawn for a holiday sing-along.

6:00pm – 6:15pm: Lighting of the City Hall tree followed by a stroll down Main Street towards the Y to wait for Santa’s arrival.

Around 6:30pm: Led by Melrose High School Drummers, Santa Claus will arrive in downtown Melrose atop a Fire Engine.

Saturday Fun:

All day on Saturday, the city will be full of fairs, performances, sales, specials, The Nutcracker, and all sorts of fun that will last throughout the weekend.

  • Free trolleys will run from 10:00am – 2:00pm and originate at Cedar Park with stops throughout Melrose. A printable trolly map is available here. Hop on and off!  
  • The last trolleys out of Cedar Park will be at 1:40PM as the trolleys stop running all together at 2:00pm sharp so please plan your travels accordingly.
  • For the safety of all passengers we ask that you leave strollers at home or at Cedar Park. 
  • MASKS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED FOR TROLLEY RIDERS
