Get Vaccinated Against the Flu This Saturday in Wakefield
To prevent the flu and protect the health and wellness of the Melrose community, the City of Melrose Health and Human Services (HHS) Department is partnering with the Wakefield Health Department to host several Fall Flu Clinics. Community members can get vaccinated against the flu as early as this Saturday, October 14, by attending the Wakefield/Melrose Family Flu Clinic taking place at the Americal Civic Center in Wakefield from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Getting a flu shot is the most important action a person can take to prevent flu and its potentially serious complications,” said Melissa Lowry, MS, BSN, RN, Public Health Nurse for the City of Melrose and Town of Wakefield. “Everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccine as soon as possible. Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk and parents of young children.”
Community members are strongly encouraged to preregister for tomorrow's flu clinic, or any of the flu clinics, by visiting https://www.cityofmelrose.org/2023FallFluClinics. Please note that all insurances will be accepted, except United. Community members should wear short sleeves to their appointments.
