Get Ready for the Victorian Fair This Sunday!

The Melrose Chamber of Commerce and Presenting Sponsor MelroseWakefield Hospital, invite you to be part of the 38th Victorian Fair this Sunday, September 9, from 11:00AM – 4:00PM in downtown Melrose!

With support from the City of Melrose and our generous sponsors, the Fair is a wonderful way to visit with businesses, organizations, elected officials and more. We will have nearly 200 booths along Main Street for you to explore! This year we are pleased to honor Sally Frank, founder of the Melrose Farmers’ Market, which is celebrating its 25th year in our community!

Here are some of the highlights of this year’s Fair:

  • EMARC’s 24th annual 5K, sponsored by Marathon Sports will take place immediately before the Fair. Lace up for a great cause and register here.
  • Consider biking to the Fair and use the bike valet service on East Foster Street (note the new location) provided by the Melrose Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee and Mass in Motion.
  • Our generous chamber members have donated some amazing prizes to this year’s Big Ticket Raffle. Buy your tickets before Friday for $10 each at Melrose Chamber members Miter Biter Frame Company, and Eastern Bank both in downtown Melrose. Day of Fair, pending tickets are still available, purchase tickets at the Chamber Booth (corner of West Foster and Main Streets). Click herefor the prize list.
  • Center Stage will once again be hosted by our wonderful Master of Ceremonies and longtime Melrose volunteer, Marcy Holbrook. Music, singers, dancers, martial arts demos, and more will entertain people of all ages. Festivities kick off at 11:00AM with a special Fair opening! View the Center Stage schedulehere.
  • Learn more about electric vehicles by visiting the display of EV’s along East Foster Street and speak with vehicle owners, check out the cars and see how you can go green.
  • Bring your appetite to the Fair! We have a variety of food booths this year, with something for everyone.
  • The Fair will once again feature a variety of small rides and amusements (for a fee) in the parking lot behind Papa Gino’s, which is sure to bring smiles to the faces of our youngest Fair-goers.
  • Both the Melrose Police Department and the Melrose Fire Department will have booths so come by for information, meet the fire fighters and police officers and more.
  • The Melrose Health Department will offer free flu shots
