ADA Self-Assessment & Transition Plan

The members of the Melrose Commission on Disability (COD) invite you to join them in-person TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 15, in the Cassidy Conference Room located on the 2nd floor of City Hall to provide feedback on the City’s recently released ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan reports. The meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Please note: the last City News email regarding this meeting listed an incorrect date for this meeting. The meeting is not taking place tonight, February 14. Instead, it is taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, February 15. Thank you for your attention.

The City's ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan Part 1 includes an executive summary, an evaluation of nondiscrimination policies and practices, and a legal overview, and the City's ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan Part 2 includes an evaluation of City facilities, school buildings, and outdoor facilities, and provides recommendations for best practices and inclusive designs. A copy of the reports are located at the Melrose Public Library located at 263 West Foster Street.

Community members who attend TOMORROW's meeting are encouraged to make comments any time during the two-hour timeframe. Community members can also continue to make comments by email to ADAfeedback@cityofmelrose.org. The deadline for emailed comments is February 24.

If an individual requires reasonable accommodation to attend either of the upcoming meetings, including a sign language interpreter, please contact the COD by email at commissionondisability@cityofmelrose.org, or by calling COD chair David Hoff at (617) 480-9230. In addition, if you need the ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan documents in an alternate format, or would like a printed copy, please contact the COD.
