City of Melrose Releases Fall Flu Clinic Schedule

City of Melrose Releases Fall Flu Clinic Schedule

Community members are strongly encouraged to visit www.Cityofmelrose.org/2023FallFluClinics to preregister for a fall flu clinic and get protected against the flu today.

In an effort to prevent the flu and protect the health and wellness of the Melrose community, the City of Melrose Health and Human Services (HHS) Department, in partnership with the Wakefield Health Department, will host several Fall Flu Clinics.

“Getting a flu shot is the most important action a person can take to prevent flu and its potentially serious complications,” said Melissa Lowry, MS, BSN, RN, Public Health Nurse for the City of Melrose and Town of Wakefield. “Everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccine as soon as possible. Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk and parents of young children.”

Community members are strongly encouraged to preregister for any of the flu clinics and can do so by visiting https://www.cityofmelrose.org/2023FallFluClinics. Please note that all insurances will be accepted, except United. Community members should wear short sleeves to their appointments.

About the Health and Human Services Department

The Health Department, now the Health and Human Services Department as of March 2022, is continuously evolving, having recently shifted to expand its services in both physical and mental health, where there is a focus on prevention, remediation, and maintenance. The Department’s mission has always been to promote the personal and environmental health of the community through education and policy development supported by enforceable regulations, and collaboration with other people and organizations. This name change better encompasses the services the Department is providing. To learn more, visit www.cityofmelrose.org/health-and-human-services
