In observance of Thanksgiving, most Melrose municipal buildings will be closed:

  • City Hall and the Milano Center will be closed beginning Wednesday, November 22, at 12:30 p.m., and will re-open on Monday, November 27, at 8:30 a.m.
  • The Public Library will be closed beginning on Wednesday, November 22, at 1 p.m., and will re-open on Saturday, November 25, at 10 a.m. Digital services will be available online 24/7.
  • The City Yard will be closed on Wednesday, November 22, and will reopen on Saturday, November 25, at 8:30 a.m.

Melrose public safety buildings will remain open.

Due to the holiday, there will be no curbside trash and recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day. As a result, Thursday and Friday’s pickup will be delayed one day, with Thursday's trash and recycling scheduled to be collected on Friday, November 24, and Friday's trash and recycling scheduled to be collected on Saturday, November 25.

The final round of curbside yard waste collection for the year 2023 will take place after the holiday weekend during the week of November 27 — December 1.
