District Director of Veterans’ Services

Make a difference in the lives of veterans! The Director manages Veterans’ Services for Melrose, Wakefield and Saugus and performs administrative and social welfare work providing financial benefits, employment assistance, counseling, and a variety of additional services to veterans. There is a verity of benefits, including pension, health insurance, and paid time off.

Junior Mechanic

Work in a fast-paced environment and gain valuable skills. The Junior Mechanic, working independently under the direction of the Mechanic/Welder(s) or with others, the Junior Mechanic maintains, overhauls, repairs, replaces and adjusts engines, pumps, machinery and equipment for the Public Works Department and other City departments as required. Mechanic/Welder

The Mechanic/Welder is responsible for a verity of tasks, including monitoring fleet equipment, making repairs, and performing routine checks. There is a verity of benefits, including pension, health insurance, paid time off, and opportunity for overtime.

Fleet Foreman

The Fleet Foreman has the opportunity to supervise garage operations for the City of Melrose DPW. They will head work crews and assigned work in the Fleet Division and plan, organize, supervise, maintain and repair a variety of motor vehicles, heavy equipment, specialized equipment, and smaller equipment and motors.
