As a reminder, all are welcome to join the Melrose Human Rights Commission (MHRC) for the City’s fifth Annual Community Iftar Celebration taking place at Memorial Hall, on Saturday, April 8, beginning at 6 p.m.

Iftar is the traditional fast-breaking meal eaten at sunset during Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims around the world as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Each day during Ramadan, the daily fast will begin after the pre-dawn meal known as suhur, and will end at sunset with the evening meal, iftar. This year, Ramadan begins at sunset on March 22 and will end on the evening of April 21.
