In Case You Missed it: Melrose Energy Commission to Host Virtual Solar Webinar

Virtual Solar Webinar

In celebration of January as Solar Month, the Melrose Energy Commission will host a virtual Solar Webinar featuring an expert from EnergySage, an online solar marketplace, who will present all the information residents, local businesses and nonprofits need to start their solar journey, on Tuesday, January 24, at 7 p.m. Register in advance today by visiting https://www.cityofmelrose.org/home/events/SolarWebinar

The City of Melrose is currently home to 600 solar installations that generate over 5 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable electricity. These solar installations convert sunlight into electrical energy, and they are everywhere: on the rooftops of churches, businesses, and City buildings, but most of all residential houses.

During the Solar Webinar, the expert from EnergySage will present the basics of solar PV systems:

  •       how solar works
  •       benefits of going solar
  •       installation details
  •       how battery storage fits into the picture
  •       state and federal incentives available

The EnergySage expert will also explain how to use their online tool located at www.EnergySage.com/Melrose to anonymously obtain quotes and compare quotes and services between solar installers. The EnergySage presentation will be followed by a Q & A.

The webinar is ideal for anyone who has considered going solar but is not sure where to start and will highlight the federal incentives released in the Inflation Reduction Act.

After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. If you have any questions, email the Melrose Solar Coach at MelroseSolarCoach@gmail.com
