The Bridge Asks Melrose Community to Donate New & Unused Items

The Bridge

The Bridge, the 501c3 non-profit organization that places volunteers in the Melrose Public Schools, has launched its latest fundraiser and is asking Melrose residents to hunt through their homes for unused and still packaged items to donate to The Bridge to support the planning of the non-profit's upcoming Annual Trivia Bee taking place on March 25.

Between now and March 4, community members can drop their new and never used items at the Bridge Bin located on the porch of 177 Bellevue Ave. Community members grab a donation receipt off the porch and feel great about supporting The Bridge!

“The ask is easy: hunt through your home for those new items that weren’t quite right for one reason or another,” said Bridge Board Member Maribeth Darwin. “Maybe you missed the return window of an online purchase, and now the item sits in the back of your closet. Maybe you received a present and loved the thought, but not so much the gift. Maybe you had lofty aspirations to be crafty or handy that just didn't come to fruition.”

Whatever the reason, if it’s new and unused, The Bridge will use it as an item during The Bridge Annual Silent Auction or in one of our Trivia Bee gift basket raffles. The Bridge's annual Trivia Bee is in person again this year: mark your calendar for March 25 and stay tuned for more information!

About the Bridge: A School Community Partnership

The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership is a 501c3 non-profit organization that places volunteers in the Melrose Public Schools. Bridge volunteers enrich teaching and learning for students from preschool through high school. Some volunteers offer just an hour or two during the school year, while others give countless hours to their schools and school communities. Our view is that each one of these contributions is powerful - bringing a diversity of cultures, skills, experiences, and perspectives.

Bridge volunteers enrich teaching and learning for students from preschool through high school. Bridge volunteers work in elementary libraries, serve as PTO leaders, chaperone field trips, share career information with students, and much more.  Learn more by visiting http://www.thebridgemelrose.org/home
