All Are Invited to Participate in Martin Luther King Day Events

The Melrose Human Rights Commission will sponsor a Day of Service and Community Potluck on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 20, 2020.

Volunteers for the Day of Service can register at the Melrose Unitarian Universalist Church, 70 West Emerson St., from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on January 20. They can do volunteer work at different sites throughout the community from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., then meet back at the UU church for pizza. The volunteer event is sponsored by the Melrose Human Rights Commission and Gabriella's Pizza of Melrose.

The Community Potluck begins at 5 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 121 West Foster St. Please bring a main dish or dessert to serve 4-6 people or more and please identify the ingredients. 

The evening celebration begins immediatly afterward, at 6:30 p.m., and will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with music, reflection, and a keynote message by Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins.
