Regulations for Fences and Walls
Except as described in the following pages, fences, walls, and other structures may be up to 7 ft. tall. Proposals that involve new structures on lots without required front and side yard setbacks will be reviewed during the Planning Board’s Site Plan Approval process.
- CORNER LOTS
- A triangular area formed by measuring 20 ft. from the intersection of the property lot lines;
- Within the first 3 ft. of the side yard; and
- Within the required front yard setback or from the front lot line to the line of the existing primary structure (whichever is less).
The street frontage that is used to access the main entrance is considered the front yard while the other street frontage is considered a side yard.

- NON-CORNER LOTS
A fence, wall, or similar structure must not be taller than 3 ft. within the required front yard setback or from the front lot line to the line of the existing primary structure (whichever is less).The height is measured from the grade of land where the structure is installed. Retaining walls may be replaced in kind.
