Melrose Pride 2023

Melrose Pride 2023: The Melrose Human Rights Commission and Mayor Paul Brodeur Invite All to Join Upcoming Pride Month Celebrations

The Melrose Human Rights Commission (MHRC), in partnership with the City of Melrose and the Office of Mayor Paul Brodeur, is proud to announce that the City’s Sixth Annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Month Celebration will return to the community this June and will include a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on June 1 and a Pride Celebration at the Beebe Estate on June 9.

The Mission of the MRHC’s 2023 Pride Events is to celebrate the voices and perspectives of the LBGTQIA+ community in Melrose, raise awareness of barriers faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, and bring the people of Melrose together to promote inclusivity, education, and advocacy for equal rights for all people under the law.

Pride Flag Raising Ceremony: June 1, 2023

On Thursday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m., please join the MHRC, Mayor Paul Brodeur, local speakers, and elected officials as Melrose raises the Pride Flag in honor of Pride Month and celebrates Melrose as “One Community, Open to All.”

Pride Celebration at the Beebe Estate: June 9, 2023

On Friday, June 9, at 5 p.m., please join the MHRC, Mayor Paul Brodeur, local speakers, youth artists, and elected officials to Celebrate Melrose Pride with music from Girl Skull and MC Samantha Em. “Bring yourself, your family, and your friends for an evening filled with music, a Community Art Project, an LGBTQIA+ Youth Art Exhibit, a Pride Pop-up Library, Face Painting, and an atmosphere filled with love, acceptance, and appreciation,” said Bonnie Clapp, Chair of the MHRC.

For more information, visit the Melrose Pride 2023 Eventbrite Page, the MHRC FB Page, or the MHRC Webpage. To give feedback or inquire about volunteer opportunities, please fill out the Melrose Pride 2023 Pre-Event Survey or contact the MHRC at melrosehrc@cityofmelrose.org. Melrose Pride Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

In this time of unprecedented attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community and their Human Rights in the United States and around the world, the MHRC is proud to be a part of the Melrose Pride events. The MHRC is focused on inclusivity and listening to the community as they plan and encourages residents to share feedback with melrosehrc@cityofmelrose.org. The MHRC thanks all who have already provided invaluable feedback and support in planning this year’s Pride events.
