Melrose Roadway Rankings Map

Roadway Rankings

Every three years, the City's Engineering Division evaluates the condition of the City’s public roads and uses this data to develop a Roadway Rankings Map and inform the City’s Annual Roadway Improvements Program. The City's latest Roadway Rankings Map (2023) is available for your viewing here.

The condition of each road is assessed on 12 conditions (e.g., cracks, rutting, and potholes) and accounts for 60% of each road's score. A road's travel condition accounts for 40% of each score. Scores below 60 are considered Poor-Very Poor (shown in the  2023 Roadway Rankings Map as orange or red).

Other factors that inform the City’s Annual Roadway Improvements Program include the replacement of underground utilities, safety concerns, and improving access for all users.
