Melrose Birth to Five is Looking for Members!

Are you a parent or caregiver of a child under 5 and want to get involved with Melrose Birth to Five? Now is the perfect opportunity as the group reconvenes for 2018 with a kick-off meeting on Tuesday March 20th at 7pm at City Hall.

Melrose Birth to Five is an advisory group to the City of Melrose created in 2012 with a goal of helping the City better support families with young children (birth through age 5) by connecting them with other parents and community resources.

Since its inception, dozens of residents have been involved in creating a grass roots organization aimed at connecting families of young children to events and resources. Birth to Five has also played a crucial role in shaping recent City policies including Complete Streets and the City Master Plan.

2018 will be a great opportunity to continue and expand the goal of organizing a host of great community events that have included in recent years:

  • New and Expectant Parent Expo
  • Melrose Kids Club
  • Common Playground reconstruction and grand opening
  • Bingham Playground reconstruction and grand opening
  • Birth to Five Realtors Breakfast
  • Melrose Swap Day
  • New Parents Group
  • Kindergarten Information Sessions
  • Summer Kick-off Concert at Memorial Hall
