Effective July 1, 2017

Health Insurance

  • Opt Out Incentive for Health Insurance

    • For Active Employees who are currently enrolled as the insured in the City’s health insurance and have been enrolled for the previous twelve (12) consecutive months and remain enrolled until 6/30/2017
    • The City will pay $3,000 per year for an individual plan and $6,500 per year for a family plan upon proof of other coverage

  • What Has Changed for FY18?

    • Open Enrollment To Do 2018
    • Rate Increases effective 7/1/17 are an average of 3.8%
    • Tufts Navigator, Fallon Select, & Harvard Independence Plan (POS) are closed to new members.
    • Take the time to review your options and change to a less expensive plan. FY18 has a fiscal year deductible, so there is no barrier to change health plans

  • Employees must have Basic coverage ($10,000 policy) to add Voluntary Life
  • Voluntary benefit paid by the employee
  • Cover yourself, spouse and/or children
  • Choose amounts between $10,000 – $300,000 to a maximum of 5 times salary
